Case Study 8
This was a manufacturing business, newly formed by the acquisition of two similar long-standing businesses that had failed. In a two month (mid payroll year) project, Diana implemented MiraclePay, a highly definable payroll system which can link to Navision ledgers, to replace the two former stand alone payroll systems, Earnie and Sage.
The project covered data extraction from the old systems and conversion for import into the new system, setting up entitlement schemes to cope with the six different holiday and sickness policies in place, as well as the various pension schemes, one of which was a salary sacrifice scheme. During this phase of data preparation, Diana undertook a full audit of the data held, which gave a chance to correct some long standing errors from the old systems.
Care was taken when setting up the new systems so that the ongoing harmonisation of terms and conditions post acquisition would be supported.
Two months were run on both old and new systems, to ensure that all pay items, rates of pay etc were correct before using MiraclePay as the live system, producing BACS upload files, payslips and GL journal details.
Diana also produced a detailed manual of all payroll processes.
